When SHINee’s Jonghyun passed away last month, it was revealed that his new solo album was supposed to be released this month.

As fans wondered if his last works would ever see the light of day, SHINee’s agency, SM Entertainment, announced a few days ago that the album, Poet | Artist, would be released posthumously.

The album bears the same words as the tattoo that Jonghyun wore on his neck. The singer also has tattoos of all his album titles on his body.

Today, the agency released both the music video for “Shinin’”, which he reportedly filmed a few days before his death, and the album through online music portals. The physical albums will be in stores tomorrow.

Like his first mini-album, a footnote was included in this album, which wrote: “We can be together in this space, while being on the other side of the Earth. We can be together at any time, not just at 12 o’clock. Physical matters certainly remained indifferent in our space. I only hope for this to never cease. I hope this space that belongs to you and me, be the site for anyone to rest in tranquility. I hope for our memories to rise as reminiscences and embrace you like no other. This is dedicated to those who have created our space together. Thank you.”

According to Twitter user shineeshashasha, the words are the English translation of something Jonghyun had once said when he was hosting his radio show, Blue Night.

Member Key showed his support for his departed member by posting a screengrab of the lyrics to “Before Our Spring” when the album was released.

At the time of reporting, Jonghyun’s album ranked second on the real-time iTunes album charts in Singapore although it’s only been a few hours since its release.
