Fans are still reeling in shock over the death of Kim Jonghyun, a member of popular group SHINee, and we can only imagine how the members are feeling.
The procession this morning was led by Minho, with members Onew, Key and Taemin acting as pallbearers. As the coffin was loaded onto the car, Onew was seen gripping Key’s hand to comfort him, before the latter broke down in tears.
A few hours after the procession, Key left a heartfelt note to the departed Jonghyun via Instagram, along with a photo of them together.
To my beloved Jonghyun hyung,
Hyung, it’s me, Kibum. I sent you off this morning and saw your face yesterday, but I still can’t believe it.
I had a different job, so I’m sorry for coming late to see you off. Up till then, you’ve been lonely and as your younger brother, I’m sorry that I couldn’t do much.
In our team, you and I are the most stubborn. We always do whatever we want, and try whatever we want but in the end, you went first.
At first, it was very hard [for me], but during these three days that I spent with you, I think I understood your heart.
Don’t worry about leaving before us, I will treat your mother and sister like they’re my own family.
For a while, I’ll miss you a lot, and I’m worried that the person who stood by me during meetings has left.
When we have meetings, after I snap out of it, I realise that you and I have talked a lot.
Now while I’m getting used to not having you around, I will also live better than I do now.
When I’m old and we meet again, I also want you to tell me that I’ve done well. The best artist in my life, the best brother, colleague, Jonghyun hyung, you’ve done well. I love you very much!
