Fans of Korean dramas, rejoice! Two acting powerhouses will be joining forces yet again in a new drama. Lee Seung Gi and Suzy will be acting in a new series titled “Vagabond”, which will be a spy action drama.

The two had previously acted together in historical drama Gu Family Book and were known for their chemistry.

Seung Gi will play the character of Cha Gun, a stuntman who is investigating the truth behind a plane crash.

Suzy, on the other hand, will play Go Hae Ri, an officer with the National Intelligence Service.

The producer of the drama, Yoo In Sik, was behind popular shows like Dr. Romantic and Giant. It will be broadcasted in Korea, Japan and the US at the same time.

Are These New K-dramas Worth Watching?

This is not the first spy-themed K-drama. In fact, it’s one of the most well-used yet tireless themes on the drama scene. For example, the 2009 Iris, starring Lee Byung Hun and Kim Tae Hee, became one of the biggest K-dramas of all time. It even sparked a spin-off, Athena.

Last year, JTBC teamed up with Netflix for an original series, Man To Man, starring Park Hae Jin and Kim Min Jung.

We reckon the reason why spy dramas continue to ignite interest among the viewers has got to be the fact that they not only pack a punch in terms of action scenes, but also include a romance factor most of the time. Of course, don’t forget the eye candies that are usually cast for these dramas.

While Seung Gi won’t be acting as a spy per se, we’re still excited for this drama.

Fans of Lee Seung Gi, if you haven’t heard, the actor will be in town for a fan meeting! See the details below.
